Shotokan has spread to become the most widely practised style of Karate throughout the world
Its structured training system creates self-discipline and improves behaviour in many aspects of peoples lives as well as developing fitness strength and suppleness
We are immensely pleased and proud to announce that one of our students and Young Leaders Thomas Hegarty represented KUGB England at the World Shotokan Karate Championships at the weekend.

The event saw the best Shotokan Karate exponents descend on Liverpool with some exceptional Karate on show.

Thomas was on top form all day helping his team achieve a bronze medal in the team Kumite.

He then went into the Individual event with sole purpose of doing his best and boy did he………after 6 hard fights he was crowned 2022 WORLD KUMITE CHAMPION!!!!!!!

Having spent the whole of his 6 weeks summer holidays training twice a day it is safe to say his hard work definitely payed off!

We would like to congratulate the whole of the England team on a fantastic weekend culminating in them topping the medal table!!
